Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) actively encourages students to achieve their academic potential while also behaving with good character. There are several components of the program including teaching expected behaviors in all settings, acknowledging students when they demonstrate the expectations and providing for interventions when the expectations are not met. Positive reinforcements are provided at Howard Middle through several means: "Baby Bruin Bucks", "PAWsitive" News, and a staff and student recognition system. STudents will be able to redeem their "Baby Bruin Bucks" for many incentives on the ROAR Incentive Menu throughout the school year.
